Our editorial mission

Useful information, with context.

StockHitter helps individual investors understand companies, investing strategies, and financial research products. Our goal is to explain what the information means, where the limitations are, and which questions a reader should ask next.

Our coverage combines investing guides, stock analysis, and reviews. Affiliate income supports the site, but a commission is not a reason to give a product a positive assessment.

Research & product reviews

Firsthand use and original research.

Reviews are based on firsthand use, original research, or a combination of both. Those are different kinds of evidence: researching a product is not the same as subscribing to or using it.

Firsthand experience

When an article describes personal use, the relevant evidence can include original screenshots, examples from the service, testing notes, and the period of access. An author’s experience is not a promise that another subscriber will get the same outcome.

Research and sources

Research may draw on publisher materials, company filings, financial reports, product terms, and other relevant sources. Marketing claims should be distinguished from independently established facts.

A balanced assessment

A useful review explains the offering, costs, limitations, and potential fit. We consider drawbacks as well as advantages and do not accept payment in exchange for positive coverage.

What readers should look for

  • The basis for the assessment: firsthand use, research, or both.
  • Relevant costs, terms, and limitations, with sources where available.
  • A distinction between factual information, publisher claims, and the author’s opinion.
  • Context for any examples or results. Past performance does not guarantee future results.
Fact-checking & maintenance

Updates where timing matters.

Important, time-sensitive articles are reviewed quarterly and updated where needed. Other content is updated as needed. A review does not mean every article changes each quarter.

Prices, subscription terms, company results, and other financial information can change between reviews. Check the original source or provider for the current details before acting.

Accuracy and dates

Content is reviewed before publication for factual accuracy and sourcing. When we identify an error, our policy is to correct it promptly and transparently.

A publication or update date gives context for an article; it should not be read as a guarantee that every figure or product term remains current. Material corrections are noted when they occur.

How the site earns revenue.

Some links are affiliate links. We may earn a commission when a reader purchases through them, at no additional cost to the reader. Affiliate relationships are disclosed on pages where they exist.

Our editorial judgment is not influenced by affiliate compensation. We do not accept payment for positive reviews.

Holdings and conflicts.

Where authors hold personal positions in securities discussed, those positions are disclosed within the relevant article. Personal holdings do not determine our editorial assessment.

StockHitter’s content is educational and is not personalized investment advice. Investing involves risk, including the possible loss of principal.
